# License allocation

The code and other original release material described below are licensed under
the Apache License, Version 2.0, whose text is in
[`LICENSE-APACHE-2.0.txt`](LICENSE-APACHE-2.0.txt).

The receipt profile text, schemas, vectors, documentation, and release metadata
described below are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0
International, whose text is in
[`LICENSE-CC-BY-4.0.txt`](LICENSE-CC-BY-4.0.txt).

## Apache-2.0 scope

Apache-2.0 applies to all original material in this release except:

- the CC-BY-4.0 scope below; and
- third-party license texts, which remain governed by their own terms.

This includes executable source under `bin/`, `src/`, `scripts/`, `test/`, and
`examples/credential-consumer/`, plus package and tool configuration.

## CC-BY-4.0 scope

CC-BY-4.0 applies to:

- `docs/**`;
- `schemas/**`;
- `site/spec/**`;
- `packages/credential-core/test/vectors/**`;
- `trust/*.json`;
- `README.md`, `VERIFY.md`, and `RELEASE-PROCEDURE.md`; and
- `RELEASE.json` and `PROVENANCE.json`.

Attribution: "Witness Registry receiver pack and Countersign receipt profile,
Syngraphe contributors." Preserve the source repository and release identifier
when redistributing modified profile material, and identify modifications as
required by CC-BY-4.0.

Files carrying a more specific notice retain that notice. This allocation does
not grant trademark rights, patent rights beyond those stated in Apache-2.0, or
rights in third-party material beyond the applicable third-party license.
